From La Roque Gageac, a village classified as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France, at Castelnaud bridge overlooked by the 18th century Château, this part of the river gives you a unique view of the history of the Périgord and its châteaus as well as an unforgettable way of discovering nature, its fauna and flora.
“Gabares NORBERT”, a family business committed to transmitting the values and authenticity of Périgord heritage, has taken on itself to maintain the history and traditional lifestyle of the boatmen of yesteryear.
By having you travel the waterways on an authentic reproduction of an 18th century canal boat, you will relive this historical era when everything (wine, wood, fish, salt, and all & sundry...) was carried by boat in often difficult conditions.
Our hostesses and guides will be delighted to make your water journey an unforgettable... and cultural... trip!
